David Hammond Jr. is co-owner and president of Inland Marine Service, the largest inland vessel management company in the United States.  With over 700 employees, Inland Marine Service is able to serve customers across the Western Rivers, East Coast and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterways.  Hammond’s maritime career began as a deckhand, receiving his Coast Guard 1600 GRT Master’s License at the age of 21.  He went on to work as a regional vice president of Arthur J. Gallagher & Company, a U.S.-based global insurance brokerage and risk management firm, and as senior marine underwriter and loss control manager at Neare, Gibbs, & Company/St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company. He currently serves on the board, as a founding member, of Central Ohio River Business Association and Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.  He is a frequent speaker at industry events, utilizing his decades of experience as a vessel operator, marine surveyor, and insurance executive.
