IMX Speaker – Tava S. Foret

Tava Foret is President and Co-Founder of the Towing Vessel Inspection Bureau (TVIB), a U.S. Coast Guard-approved Third-Party Organization for Subchapter M compliance. She brings more than three decades of experience in the tug, towboat, and barge industry and holds active credentials as both an auditor and surveyor. She was the first woman certified as a lead auditor for the American Waterways Operators’ Responsible Carrier Program.

An established industry leader, she has chaired the Houston-Galveston Navigation Safety Advisory Committee, served on the Board of Directors for the American Waterways Operators, and contributed to Subchapter M regulatory development through the Towing Safety Advisory Committee. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Seamen’s Church Institute. Tava is a frequent speaker at national maritime conferences and was recognized as a 2024 Top Woman in Maritime by MarineLog.
