Ben Weithman, Executive Director, Henderson County Riverport

 

Ben Weithman is the executive director of the Henderson County Riverport Authority in Kentucky, overseeing the business and operational functions of the Henderson County Riverport. In addition to the operational responsibilities, he also develops and implements the operations and capital expenditures budgets, maintains adherence to the strategic plan and liaisons with local, state and federal agencies. Prior to Henderson, Weithman served as port director for the Ports of Indiana – Mount Vernon, managing the day-to-day operations at the port, developing economic opportunities and marketing port properties with the goal of growing the size and scale of the port within the region and the state. Before joining Ports of Indiana, Weithman served as the senior transportation market consultant/analyst for ag commodities at IHS Markit, providing analysis and problem solving for clients focusing on the inland rivers, rail, truck and export markets. Weithman’s career began in the Industrial and commercial property markets, spending 20 years developing and managing a diverse portfolio of properties, including industrial, commercial, retail, warehousing and hospitality. Weithman graduated from the Ohio State University magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture, majoring in agribusiness and applied economics, and he completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Southern Indiana’s Romain College of Business.
