IMX Speaker – Nathan Power

Nathan is the director of operations at VSM Associates, a firm specializing in drydock and waterfront operations in shipyards. A maritime professional with a career focus on the operation, repair and construction of naval combatants and logistics ships, his experience as a deck officer ranged from naval support vessels, merchant marine training vessels and articulated tug and barges.

His work in shipyards includes logistics, maintenance dredging, waterside infrastructure construction and rehabilitation, ship’s husbandry and support, commercial diving operations, launching and operational testing of vessels and docking and undocking vessels from floating dry docks and graving docks.  Nathan is a USCG certified Unlimited Master of Oceans, a NAVSEA certified FOS on floating dry docks and land-transfer systems and an IAPME certified Maritime Port Manager.

He holds a BS in Marine Transportation Operations, an MS in Global Logistics and Maritime Management from Maine Maritime Academy and a diploma in Naval Architecture from Lloyd’s Maritime Academy.
