Brian Rafferty has served as vice president, business development and sustainability at Marquette Transportation since 2021. He has focused on a diverse range of initiatives touching all functions of the company, including exploring paths toward a more sustainable future. Prior to Marquette, he held positions in fuels distribution, dry cargo logistics, liquid sales and sustainability at Ingram. Prior to Ingram, he held positions at Lykes Lines and Exxon Shipping Company early in his career.

Rafferty has served in industry organizations, including the Governor of Louisiana’s Maritime Executive Task Force, the Louisiana Association of Waterway Operators and Shipyards (LAWS) and more recently as an active member of Inland Rivers, Ports and Terminals. He has also been an active participant in non-profit charitable organizations.

Rafferty holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Trinity University, a Bachelor of Arts in computer information systems from Tulane University and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Belmont University.

The Raffertys reside in Nashville, Tenn. They have three grown daughters and two grandchildren.
