IMX Speaker – Mike Stone

Mike Stone serves as the manager of vessel engineering for Canal Barge Company, where he provides engineering support to the asset management group, oversees new construction projects and evaluates emerging technologies to advance the company’s sustainability initiatives.

Earlier in his career, Mike worked as a naval architect/engineer in Gulf Coast shipyards before transitioning to the operational side of the maritime industry with a New Orleans–based offshore transportation company. His work there included special projects, construction support and a two-year operational assignment in Dubai.

Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and an MBA from the University of New Orleans, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the College of Charleston. He has been an active member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) throughout his professional career.
